Oooooh, everything is swirly.
Not visually, but in a dizzy/spinny kind of way. I assume this is an indication of an upcoming migraine - it happened like this once before (quite perterbing, to be laying flat on your back in bed, but gripping on to the matress very hard so you don't fall off the bed as it spins)
It's an argh because (a) it could be something other than a migraine; (b) if I do start to feel bad [as opposed to just swirly], I probably shouldn't be driving home...

That equals classic migraine for me. If I get it whilst asleep I usually wake up dreaming I'm on a small boat on a choppy sea.

My darling husband got an 80 euro fine today

He went to work on his scooter along a road with restricted access (he has access because he works there but only when he takes his car

). It's an automated videocamera thing so no arguing your way out of it. He's probably done it more than once too as it takes them a month to send out the fines. At this rate it won't be worth him going into work soon! Aaaaarrrgh!

Aaaaaaagh!!! Son (of happy post yesterday) comes home tonight with letter stating that they need to make 3 classes from the current 2 as they've had an unusual influx of children over the last few months. Means that newly settled child will move classrooms, have a new teacher and be back with those kids who made life a misery for a term last year!!!

!!!
Understand school's dilemma but VERY concerned how it'll affect my boy
Have already arranged to speak to head - hopefully tomorrow. I know I won't be alone in this!

Unfortunately not. His permit is only valid for taking the car - he forgot and took the scooter which has a registration plate that isn't on the permitted list. Silly mistake but a costly one!

and I still don't really know what I want to do with me life, reallyA dark suit is the safe bet, but provided what you wear is clean, smart and appropriate I doubt your interviewer will notice. Low cut tops and short skirts are out. A smart pair of dark trousers or a skirt, with a jacket (matching or otherwise) and a plain top underneath would be fine. Given that its due to be cold next week you could get away with ditching the jacket and wearing a sweater instead - I had a conversation with my boss a few years ago when the weather was very hot and we came to the conclusion that under the circumstances neither of us would hold it against an interviewee if they turned up in a shirt without a jacket, so I expect the same would work in cold weather.
We've even had someone turn up in casual clothes before now, with the explanation that since he was taking the afternoon off work to attend, and coming straight from work he was wearing his usual work clothes, since wearing a suit would scream "I'm taking the afternoon off to go for a job interview". That seemed fair enough and wasn't held against him, but I'm not sure it's a strategy I'd recommend.

Congratulations on getting an interview, Tamsin! All that annoying filling in of application forms is starting to pay off. Try to be as relaxed as possible on the day, so that they see a true reflection of you; if they don't like what they see, you wouldn't be happy to work there anyway.

I rarely hate anybody, but I really do despise my flatmates. They're rude and noisy and incredibly frustrating. And right now they're stationed RIGHT OUTSIDE MY BEDROOM DOOR with speakers, blaring the most horrendous 'music' imaginable. I'd like to think that they aren't right outside my door for a reason... but with the way they've been laughing and staring and being highly unsubtle doing so whenever I'm in the vicinity, I find it hard to believe that they're outside my door just because they think the music sounds better there.
It's come to the point where I haven't actually used the kitchen in a month in a half because I just don't want to be anywhere near them. I can't believe I'm letting those a******* affect something as simple as me having breakfast, lunch and dinner! I've been living on fruit and raw veg, though sometimes my Music friends drag me to their flats and make me dinner which is lovely of them.
I just don't know what to do!

I'm going to try and find somebody to talk to and see if I can move, but one thing I've come to realise about being a Music student is that I've barely any time to do anything else other than work and practise! I'm going to try though

By the sound of things you need to make it a priority; you don't want to be coming back after Christmas to the same scenario. I'm sure you won't be the first student ever to have had a problem like this - there must be a precedent in how to resolve the situation. Good luck.

Firstly, thanks to everyone for best wishes in interviews. I'll bear the advice in mind and keep you posted on how things turn out. No point in getting too excited yet though, after this interview there's still an assessment centre etc to go...
Stephie, you should definitely try and get relocated to another flat. By this time there should be spaces as lots of students drop out after the start of their course. I spent most of last year living with housemates who made me miserable, and it just wasn't worth it (I couldn't move out, though). Its tken months for me to bounce back to being completely myself, and even now I get distressed if I think about things too much. Don't put yourself in the position where you can be that undermined if you can help it!
Best of luck with sorting things out.

Many thanks for your posts/PM's in regards to my prang yesterday. I was very shaken and my back was sore afterwards, but luckily nobody was hurt. There was barely a scratch to either car, but I 'phoned my insurers this morning, who advised that I would be better off in the long-run to accept liability as I had gone into the back of the other driver.
I took 'photos of both cars so if there is any fraud involved on her part, then I can produce the 'photos as evidence if needs be.
Apparently, the owner of the shop directly near the zebra crossing is a relative of hers so she stopped to see what progress he'd made with renevations to the place.

Have just received a fairly mundane email (three times over actually) about an English department meeting next week. Unfortunately this email mentioned, in passing, that our results from last term would be out next week. They normally just surprise us with them - they're out at different times each term.
Now I'm actually terrified. I can't stop shaking and I'm practically crying with worry. I'm never normally like this - I get stressed and nervous but I'm shocking myself by reacting this badly. I don't know why I am, since I know I worked hard, and did the best that I could. I feel sick with fear, though. I know I need to relax and forget about it for now, but I can't!
I'm actually starting to worry that I have developed some kind of anxiety disorder - I feel like I can't even breathe properly!
