Belated

to Celeste and to Dawn for your grandmother.
Only just caught up with this thread.
Dawn, best wishes to both yourself and your grandmother. Hope things improve soon.Celeste, many sympathies. I have also seen too much of the inside of a hospital recently (mostly a blur of surgery and morphine). I came home 5 days ago, but many difficult weeks / months ahead. Hope you get sorted out soon and catch up on your sleep.
My AAAARRGGHHHHHHH is wondering whether, after all that, I will actually ever walk normally again.

Thanks - seems the docs are now saying that she did have a massive stroke after all. Mum says that there's been no change all week. She' not at all "with it" seems very unaware and cannot speak or feed properly
I've not been to see her as Mum says that she really wouldn't be aware of it and I kind of want to put off seeing her like that. I have much better memories. Though I've not seen as much of her in recent years ( mainly due to her ill health and not wanting to burden her by descending too often with the kids) we've been very close. I love my gran and it's upsetting to think what she's like now.
I've my mum's blessing ,as it were, to go away next week - we'd lose the money if we didn't and the kids'd be so disappointed and there's nothing we can do if we don't go. Mum says she'll keep me informed if there's any change either way.
Misterioso. Hope it's all worth it and that you make a rapid recovery.
Cyrilla - Big hugs to you too.
