Hubs ankle is still not healed sad.gif
They've given him 4 more weeks in an inflatable boot. Not constructive for job hunting....it's already been 9 weeks. We're all a bit in shock. I'm trying to get him to go and visit his parents as the flights are really cheap and he can't do anything here that he couldn't do there...

Your poor hubby. I bet he's feeling really low right at the mo. A trip to see his parents might be just what he needs.

Hope things look up soon. thereThere.gif

mmm maybe....I'm just a little worried that if he goes he may not come back! He's thinking about it - and has the same worry, I think... laugh.gif

Grrrr Cold Callers!

Bad enough most days, but yesterday I got a call from a bunch of Ambulance Chasers 'trying to help me get compensation for the serious accident I had in the last two years!'

It took two times to get it through their thick-skulls that since I lit the match that set light to my hair, it was an 'at fault' accident, therefore there was no compensation owed!

That was a call I could have done with out. Amazing.. since then everytime I've had any form of lighter or match in my hands my hair is pulled away from my face... can't think why wink.gif .

They shouldn't call after Sunday! Two years will be up!

That was a sweet PM Dave. Having a good day. I dunno whether I'm a nice person or not, but to be called Valuable and gifted has made all the difference. Thanks!

You not only have a musical gift jod but a burning desire to communicate it. And a very precious one it is too!

Now then Dave, less of the "burning desire" right now if you catch my drift. Not the best choice of words.

Yes better I think thanks Jod! Just fed up of being taken for granted, not listened to, etc. (What a whinge...) I'm a stubborn and reliable sort who just puts up with things and keeps going. But I think I need to start saying 'no'. Could be fun. Will look forward to the piano students new year concert on Saturday instead.

I know where you are coming from there, but hey, I am a mum, it comes with the territory. I needed to get the ambulance chaser thing off my chest too. I thought it was in such bad taste.

Still onwards and upwards. Cat is still doing better, and life is looking up. smile.gif

One day I'll get everything pointing forward at the same time. Enjoy your concert.

BTW I've learnt to say 'no'! Someday soon I'll be listened to. That'll be even better biggrin.gif

Got logged out of the forum for some reason and have spent over 24 hours waiting for the 'within 10 minutes if not instantly' e-mailed password. In the end resorted to going through ancient e-mails to find out what I did last time this happened and actually found the information I needed. I expect I will now receive the e-mail with my password details biggrin.gif It's not that I have anything I need to post, I just don't like being told I can't biggrin.gif

Never never delegate. It is the most over-rated activity in the world.

Just spent hours and hours tonight (which I should have been spending with my visiting sister) re-doing something which someone else at work messed up.

My New Year's resolution to be less of a control freak has now gone out the window - along with the diet.

I did consider using a saucepan, but then thought that I probably won't get much of a chance to go out and buy a new kettle before next weekend, and didn't fancy having to boil water in a saucepan all week.

There's a cookshop 5 minutes walk away, so it was an easy task to get a new one.

Oh, how annoying for you! I hate it when that sort of thing happens. I remember one Christmas spending ages making a large mince and apple pie that I thought was going to do 5 of us for two days' puddings. Unfortunately, on taking it out of the oven I managed to drop it into a large bag of shopping which was waiting to be put away when I'd done the pie - smashed glass and bits of pie everywhere, plus ruined shopping bag! Amazingly, although the pie dish had smashed against them, neither of the bottles of red wine in the bag were broken - otherwise the mess would have been even worse.

I hope you had a nice lunch eventually. smile.gif

This is really not a good New Year.

mad.gif ill.gif sad.gif

I keep getting health issues thrown at me - two more last week. Instrumental practice has had to be completely abandoned - even demonstrating things in lessons - as it gives rise to so much pain that the next day I begin to wish I wasn't here. Hospital referrals are looming, and poor OH is having to do everything for me. Don't think I can cope....

(Sorry, this post should have come with a health warning.)

Ouch! (for the car crash and the prolapsed disc)
Really pleased Nan has pulled through, although that must have been really awful at the time.

Is the epidural one of lignocaine and a steroid? One that is going to make you feel like the area is on fire for awhile then allow all the inflammation to settle, then with luck allow the disc to shrink back to place?

I've had a couple of these in a bursae in my left hip. I fell off rocks on Mackinnon's Beach on Mull and since then have been plagued with bursitis in my left hip on top of my fibro. The injection is heaven for the first few hours, hurts like blue murder for about 36 hours then lasts for about 6-9 months.

With any luck yours will last longer.

The hip is currently blue murder without the injection. This will teach me not to scramble over wet granite boulders, and that maybe, just maybe, the broken leg would have been the better option.

Take care Appasionata. I do hope you are feeling better soon.

I did play in the local orchestra but had to give up last year because I was spending evenings visiting sick mother in hospital/home (it always coincided with orchestra night mad.gif sad.gif )

I was due to re-join tonight but we're having something delivered and it could arrive any time up to 9pm ohmy.gif sad.gif It's going to take two of us to move it through the house so if it doesn't arrive by 5pm I miss ANOTHER orchestra night wacko.gif

Thanks everyone, especially you Jod for your good wishes. My back is feeling a bit better today, although I can't decide if it's due to the epidural, or starting fentanyl patches. Either way, it feels better at the moment. Still only managed to sleep till 4am though. Jod - it was Bupivacaine (local anaesthetic) and steroid. The last one didn't work at all, but hopefully it will this time. I hope your hip is feeling a bit better too.

Just off to visit my Nan at the hospital. She's also on the mend, but can't stand up yet, so I think it's going to be a while before she can go home.
