just wondering if anyone had heard of him?
my teacher suggested listening to some of his music: she says that because i like debussy and messiaen, then i'll like him.
has anyone tried playing any of his music??
Lucia
No sorry I've not heard of him.

I'm learning my first piece of Debussy for the piano - The Little Negro - it's a great piece and really fun to play. biggrin.gif

I agree with Nat that Takemitsu isn't as good as Ludovico- but Debussy is way better than both of them tongue.gif

Toru Takemitsu is one of the most influential composers in the 20th century. I have heard some of his works. His "Toward the Sea" series, November Steps and the "Rain Tree Sketch" series are my favourite.
