Hello,

I am new to the clarinet and unfortunately one of the corks have fallen off ohmy.gif and I wonder if anyone can recommend some safe / good glue to re-attach it with? It is the cork on one of the levers so is not required for playing but obviously for protecting the clarinet when I play.

Many thanks wub.gif

If you do it very very carefully, I can't see why you couldn't use superglue. Make sure you leave it out to dry for a while. If you put it back in your case, you'll find your clarinet stuck inside it!

The cork tenons are stuck onto plastic or wood. The small pieces on the keys are on metal. For the tenon cork, I'd suggest a simple wood glue. This is because when you change the tenons, you want to get the old cork off easily. If you use superglue here, it will be like cutting through concrete, and you can damage the clarinet.
For the key/lever cork, use something stronger. As Kflute said, yes, use superglue.

Oh, try not to glue your finger to the lever! It's so embarrassing at the hospital! biggrin.gif

lol! I'd suggest Bostik glue it's good for that sort of thing I've used it before for the corks on my trills keys on the flute!

If using superglue try getting the gel version. It is more viscous making keeping the piece of cork in the right place a lot easier when waiting for the glue to cure.
