does anyone think playing with other people is much more fun than playing alone?
i am learning the Flower Duet(clarinet duet version) with my friend for our gcse ensemble piece, we get on the piece quite well because we always play duet together. it is a lovely piece, but i am playing the 2nd part so my friend play the tune(jealous tongue.gif ).
i play the flute and my friend play piano part every week when we finish theory lessons, it is great fun because we can improve out sight readings as well. after that he give me an organ lesson as well.
also i play in my school wind band and sing in my school choir and they are both very fun(but i lose 3 lunch times a week for practising).

come and share your experience with me.

Yeh, I prefer playing duets, or with other people in things like orchestra etc.

Yeah... I like playing in ensembles more than solo things! The upper 6th music group are doing a performance of "You can get it if you really want" - by Desmond Decker and the aces in the Christmas concert. cool.gif It's fab. cool.gif

Once a week I play with a local youth band and I really look forward to playing with them. It is just great to go and play with someone else and not just play by yourself.

Yeah, I love playing anyway, but you just get much more of a "buzz" from playing with other people. Haha I don't think anyone in Andover can escape me... Chamber Orchestra, youth chior, school chior, duets at school, recorder group, folk band...no-one will escape me MWA HA HA HA!!!
(sorry, went a bit OTT)

Playing with other people is great fun! Me and my friend (who is an amazing singer) spend most of our time during double music lessons shut in a practice room sight-reading through her huge song folder with me accompanying her. We should really be doing our compositions but hey... tongue.gif Our teacher knows we'll get the work done in the end, so she doesn't mind too much luckily!

Yes, I mean I would NEVER do a singing solo but I perform quite happily in choir....

Absolutely. (All those poor pianists, spending all that time playing away on their own while we string players go off to play quartets with our friends. laugh.gif )
Rainbow
OOoohhh, quartets, I love quartets.....
