Good luck ianfiat!
Sorry to hijack this a bit - but please all wish good luck to my Kodaly students who have their first exam tonight and tomorrow.
There are 13 of them doing it (including forum members Bagpuss, Hammerklavier and occasional poster Willard). They do the dictation part tonight and all the practical stuff, including part-singing, conducting, sight-singing, sing and plays and ensemble work, tomorrow evening.
GOOD LUCK ALL!!!!!

Hi everyone and thanks for all your support
I think the exam went pretty well, my scales and pieces were OK I think.
My sight reading was pretty poor, I think I played the left hand in the wrong key, but at least I kept going which seems to be the main thing.
The Aural test I thinkl was OKish but I find it hard to tell.
What struck me the most was how quick it all seemed to be.
I was quite nervous, but this was the first music practical I've ever done - and I had two bananas beforehand !

Exams do go quick. All that work for months and it's over and done with in about 10 minutes for grade 1!!

A silly question
How long does it take to get the practical results ? 2-3 weeks ?

Least time I've heard is 9 days! Most - in this country - is about a month. Most will be with you in 2-3 weeks.
Good Luck!

My daughter finished her exam an hour ago, I am so proud of her:) the poor thing started to have hicups just before her exam. I am not sure if it affected her or not.
I ask my daughter if the examiner said anything to her at the end of the exam, she said he smile and told her she did really well. Do you think that's a good sign or do they say that to all the children?
oh one more thing, she said there was an E# on her sight reading piece, is this possible? I have not seen an E# on any of the specimen sight-reading tests.

I don't think they say it to all the children (and some examiners don't say it to anybody). I should think she did well if he made that comment.

Very unlikely at grade 1 I would have thought. A sneaky G# in A minor would be more likely. I wouldn't worry she is probably mis-remembering and might have played it fine at the time.
I hope she did well
