Hello everyone smile.gif

I'm taking my Dip ABRSM exam for piano performance next week (December 7th), and i was wondering huh.gif if anyone had any advice on the exam process and writing programme notes. I'm a new member to this thing, so if you also have anything to say about any great benefits this membership entails, please let me know biggrin.gif [size=4]

The ABRSM has published some information on how to write them which is on this site. Have a look at

www.abrsm.org/resources/writingProgNotesApr05.pdf

I'm sorry to state the obvious: isn't a bit late to be doing the programme notes five days before the exam?

Hope you get it sorted.

you haven't done your programme notes yet??? blink.gif ohmy.gif

Get studying! wink.gif Read all about the composers, other works they wrote for your instrument, where your pieces fit in the composers output, the form and style of the pieces etc etc

Good Luck smile.gif

Hey, everyone

Let's not jump to conclusions. I'd be very surprised if our new friend hadn't done programme notes of some sort by now. Perhaps they were just asking to compare experiences or get a sanity check from us on what should be in them?

I must confess I'm beginning to fret about mine, for my LTCL attempt next March. I have reams of notes and tons of ideas, but actually condensing them into something legible and accessible seems beyond me sad.gif .

Cheers
