I love this and I'm trying to get it fast enough. Was just wondering roughly what level it would be?

I don't but I love this piece!

That's a tricky one, snuglivixen. I've just had a look (I love that GuestSpot book) and I would say Grade 3ish. The compound time and change of time signature add to the difficulty level, and counting the rests and coming in correctly on the second page is tricky.

I've just looked at Go to the Devil, which is a Grade 2 piece (from Music through time Bk 2) and I would say Fairytale is considerably more challenging.

Hope this helps!

Incidentally, it's longer than an exam piece would be at this level.

Thanks Andante, I love it , but it's considerably longer than it should be at the moment. I've used audacity to slow it down so I can play along, and it's gone from 3.35 mins to 5 mins like that. Showed me 2 places where I'd read the note length wrongly, so audacity is a big help. I think I may be cheating with the 'counting to come back in' tho... I know the tune well enough to not count it but join in by ear. tongue.gif
If I can get it fast enough by friday (rehearsal) I may try it as a solo for the xmas concert. Have I gone mad? ph34r.gif I think so, but in for a penny in for a pound. If I can manage a solo for a small friendly concert I should be able to manage an exam if I so wish. Sort of like testing the water by jumping in feet first! ohmy.gif
