If anyone can help i'd be very grateful.

I've heard from Gladstones that the Yamaha 4335 plays as good as pro instrument and yet is nearly half the price of the pro models. He described it as the poor mans pro trumpet. Gold brass suitable for most styles of playing, approx £300. Shop about thats my advice, some very nice pro instruments can be purchased on the used market if you know what to look for. Join a trumpet forum and get pro trumpeters advice.

hi
i agree with tenor clef, the 4335 is between a beginner model (2335) and the professional model (6335)
really its not the trumpet but the player, so just try around, if you've got any pals that play, try their instrumnt, and see if it suits you.
(what price range are you talkin??)
let me know, and i'll find you some good instruments

Hello,
Thanks for your help. Em, at the moment out of my friends who play the trumpet i have the best one but its only a yamaha ytr 1335. Its not a bad trumpet and was wandering what real difference a new "better" one would make to sound ect.
I think i would be able to spend bout 400/500 at the very very most.

One of my students uses a Yamaha 1335, and his is really really nice. The valves are very reliable however i have also come across other Yamaha 1335 trumpets and i thought they were awful so maybe he just got a good one. I use an old beaten up Boosey & Hawkes Imperial Bb trumpet circa 1951 which is fine for my needs, in the past the 3rd valve could be a bit sticky but i found polishing the actual piston and then re-applying good valve oil did the trick. For the money you have in mind i would keep hold of it and spend it on something else you really would like, there's nothing wrong with your present trumpet unless of course you are wanting to study music at degree level and performance is a factor.

hi,
there are many trumpets to choose from for that price. personally i prefer yamaha trumpets, and the 4335 is around £360-£399 dependin on the colour you have, but it is each to their own here are a few links that i found. but my advice would be to go with the ytr 4335, and seens as your willin to spend upto 500, you may aswell get a silver one, (much nicer) don't know which one you prefer.
http://www.georgegladstone.co.uk/instruments/brass.asphttp://www.netmusicalinstruments.co.uk/aca...g/Trumpets.htmli'd go with a yamaha though. i'm currently playin a ytr 6335 s, which is the first proffesional one, i think?? and i prefer that to a bach of the same price range,
if you win the lottery though, you could get a strad

or a ytr 8335
let us know your final decision!!

p.s if you win the lottery you could buy me a new trunpoet aswell!! lol

Well just about to hit the sack, Sheilz my advice to you (for what it's worth!) is to not worry about what trumpet you play but how well you play the one you have. No super duper deluxe trumpet on the planet is going to make you play better although it may make you sound better, truth is i know guys in my band who have played on basic student trumpets all their working lives and i may add make a nice living from playing and teaching. (also they sound good)So don't worry to much about your set up unless you play on a really lousy instrument which IMHO i don't think you do, just keep practicing, get your grades out of the way with and just enjoy your music. Keep your money and go and see Kill Bill2 or something.

i bought my own trumpet about a year and a half ago and its a B&S (although the exact make escapes me and im too lazy to go look) but anyway its a very good trumpet. it was £500 although the retail value was £800 - i got a really good deal from the guy i bought it from at a shop in Belfast. shop around and see what you can get.
