I recentley purchased an Armstrong 81 (1973) inline, open hole, c foot flute. I got it because it has a very nice sound, however I was hoping someone out there could give me some background on this model. I have tried numerous Armstrong dealers with absolutely no luck what so ever. I have also tried to contact Con- Selmer about the subject and they to have no records going back that far, a fire, company changing hands, excuses excuses they were no help at all. So if anyone has a clue please share it with me.
Thanks

Logically I'd expect it to be silver head body and foot, since all the other models I can think of that begin with 8 are. Surely you can work that out from looking at the interument though. What else do you want to know?

Well Liz yes logically I did work that out, however I posted this as is for a reason. There are several significant differences between this 81 and all the other 8s as you put it, and I was looking for an informed opinion. What little I could find seems to indicate that there were 8 models made: 61,71,81and 91 all with both C&B foots. Maybe the next person will be of some assistance.
