Bb - my daughter went to Sheffield to do French and Russian! The Russian dept. there is apparently better than the one at Cambridge. She had a lovely time at uni there and is still living in Sheffield. If you have any particular questions about the course/uni I can ask her for you.

Thanks Jo. That would be useful. My correspondence with Sheffield is ... well... taking it's (their) time. I ended up just sending my application wihtout hearing back from Sheffield.

I looked round Sheffield and my cousin is there. It's a nice place.

My cousin was there too and liked it so much that after she graduated, she stayed in Sheffield!
