Hi all,

I am currently preparing for my Gr 8 piano practiacal exam (targeting Nov 06).
I have a problem with studying effectively sad.gif
I loose my concentration easily while studying and end up not studying well. I really need to study hard as I want to give this exam my best shot.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!!!!

Sepending on what mood I'm in, I have bad concentration! Try playing for 15 minutes and concentrate soldily for that time. Then afterwards rewards yourselfwith something, like a TV programme,or some chocolate. If 15 mins is too hard, do 10,still too hard do 5. Then gradually build it up. Do 6 or 7 practices a dayso that you'd do the same as what other people moght be able to do in one go.

eeekk! I had this problem! Seeing as you have plenty of time left, try to find pieces that you ENJOY playing...i have changed both my A and C pieces because of this. I find that when i enjoy a piece, I'll like practising it more and will naturally play better. For scales, i tend to play a bit and then give myself a break by playing short pieces (like Einaudi!) or doing some sightreading. smile.gif
