i am thinking to take up either trombone or french horn or trumpet.
i have very think lips so do you think the mouth piece of trumpet would be too small for me?

hi
I'm initially led drawn to tell you to play the trombone (if thick is what you mean by think) . however i think you would probably get further with the instrument that appeals most to you. remember you work the instrument, enjoyment is the key to learning anything. For example, not a very strong argument but the trumpet is much smaller than the trombone and therefore it doesn't annoy me when i have to cart it around everywhere.
Just think of what you yourself want to play. Your embouchure will develop to suit. just make sure you dont lose any teeth, that could be a problem once your embouchure has developed.

We all make mistakes when typing. Especially when we're full of turkey and wine!
Just to put us all out of our misery, did you mean thin or thick?

I agree with Jaime. When I was younger, I could play the trombone, cornet and tuba - pretty varied sizes of instrument. My daughter, who is four, can get a sound out of my new trombone. I don't think lip size has much to do with it really. Which instrument appeals most to you?

if you want to carry on with flute, trombone would be best. horn and trumpet are likely to cause confusion with embouchre (according to a flautist/trombonist that i know)
