I was just wondering what the name of your instrument is-if any. I named my piano Fred...dont ask me why. My melodica is called Mel. Or am I just crazy? biggrin.gif
Alibonebone!
I've had a few......

Kit - he was a King (tenor)
Bessy - a besson (Bb/F)
Harry - a Holton (amazing wonderful bass trombone wub.gif )

Currently playing a Bb/F Yamaha called Yammy, but soon I'll be receiving my new Holton Bass trombone, (Harrys brother).

Absolutely not!

New (Gems) viola is Gemmy while old (neglected) violin is Freddie. I used to have a friend who called her viola Walter - I never knew why...

My bassoon is called Ivor, my flute hasn't got a name yet.
Choddy
My horn is called Jill, because in my wind orchestra, the other horn is called Jack laugh.gif laugh.gif

And they're in lurrvee rolleyes.gif cool.gif
Capoeira Girl
My bus driver calls my Cello "the Beast", the name has sort of stuck . . .
cheeble
My violin is called Jo because it is a hermaphrodite.

My viola doesn't have a name but it it definitely female.

My grand piano is a fat bloke without a name.

My upright piano is an elegant graceful female (nameless of course).

I don't play any of the others often enough to name them!
IrisH - LoonY
I'm thinking of names to give my recorders when I get them tommorow...but I'm not sure what.

Flute is Eve, being the vice principal flautist next to the principal called Adam... rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

Piano is Doris in memory of my Grandma who left me it in her will and was a fantastic pianist herself

Clarinet is Tomato as it is red like a tomato

Descant recorder is nameless (only naming this as it's the only wooden one I own)

Bass recorder (even though it isn't mine) is called Rosemary, as it looks like rosewood a bit?

priceywazere
Actaully mine don't have a name. Yet. So I think I shall give them a name now! Like an instrument christening sort of thing biggrin.gif

Any suggestions for a male trumpet and a female piano? biggrin.gif
Car Expert
I need to think of a name for my piano and guitar. unsure.gif

Car Expert
nicki_flute
My flute would be female, if I had a bass flute it would be male.

I digress.

None of mine have names...maybe I should give them some!
saxlover
I wouldn't be allowed to post what my saxophones name is. It is named after my favourite person in the whole world! tongue.gif

Which do you mean by "top C"? The one that would be middle C on treble clef or higher, because mine goes up to middle C.

James Galway
Jean Pierre Rampal would be good

Ivor the Engine works very well on bass clarinet! None of my instruments have names, but they are collectively known as "The Babies" - much to the hamster's disgust (he's Mummy's Other Baby you see. You don't? Oh well, never mind!).

Nicola
my clarinet's name is Esmerelda... My oboe is as yet nameless.
ItsAllGoodAndSmiley
My instruments have both first names and surnames - does anyone else do this?
My violin is called Mark Goetz - Mark because he feels like a Mark, and Goetz because his bow was made by Goetz
My piano is called George Pedal
My viola is called Jay String, because I originally called him Jay after his maker, then I decided that Jay String sounds like an odd person saying G-string... how mature smile.gif
My horn is called Dean Bling because (no offence to anyone called Dean here) he is gold coloured but going slightly green, commonly respected as two of the chavviest colours, and every Dean that I know is a chav, and Bling just makes it slightly more amusing.
I also named my metronome - Steve Tick
And my tuning fork - "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" blink.gif

My violin is a schizophrenic, so I can't name it because its name never ends up suiting its personality. It's is a female though, mostly. My guitar is called Freddie after Freddie Mercury. It is probably a male, but a slightly femanine one.
