I would be very grateful if you could recommend what books are good for explaining/learning jazz scales on flute/clarinet /sax. smile.gif

No flute at the moment but if you check out the ABRSM publishers they offer jazz graded scales (1-5) for both clarinet and saxophone.

It's important to know the scales but don't lose sight of the fact that in jazz, it's rhythm, swing and groove that count for the most.

I know a jazz guitarist who plays jazz like he's got the scales coming out of every pore, but he aint got that swing and he leaves everyone cold.

Don't catch "scalitis"!
