just wondered whats the highest or lowest mark you have ever got for a piece in your exam?!

Highest 28; lowest 26. In fact for all of the (three) exams I have done so far I've got 26, 27, 28 in some order...

26 highest
16 lowest (don't ask, and I bet no one can beat that!!)

28 for grade 2 piano. It's the one and only time and the only thing I've ever been able to brag about concerning my piano studies!!

Do they ever award 30???

Yes, I have a colleague whose daughter did tenor horn grade 8 and got 148!! She only lost the two marks in scales. The pieces were *all* 30 and full marks for sight reading and aural too. Grade 8!

I asked her how she managed it but she said she just played and for her it was nothing special she did for it. Just very talented and having a good day, plus hard work. I only dream of getting a 30 for one piece, let alone for all three in real life!

I got 29,28,28 for my grade 6 piano pieces, but I practised soooo hard and it must have really paid off!! I don't know if they ever give 30s, never heard anyone say they have got that, but who knows??

My lowest mark I think is 26, but not too sure.
(I'm not bragging, I usually drop all my marks on the SR and Aural, so don't think I'm really amazing, cos I'm not)

The highest marks i have ever got are for Grade 2 flute. (summer 03)...

For the pieces i got 29, 29 and 30 (for my study)

Overall I got a mark of 142

Yes I do know someone who got 30 for a piece. My highest is 28 . Not sure what my lowest would have been without getting out all my exam markings from years ago.

my highest is 28 and my lowest id 27!

In my Grade 8 for my pieces I got 30,30,29!

i got 30 once... so that's my highest. and my lowest was 26. does anyone know how they grade diplomas? im doing my diploma in........ 3 weeks!! ack!!

It's weird cause i've done so many exams and i always get 28, never 29 and once 30.

i was actually quite pleased with my 16, i thought i would get even less coz i sooooo hated the piece!!!

Hi! My highest mark in a piece is 29 and lowest is 26. In my aurals 4 G1 piano I got full marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oo i got 14 for my lowest - dnt ask, i was having a bad day...

My... um... aquaintance (ok my worst enemy) once got 10 for a piece in her grade 5 violin exam because she didn't know it, never practised... and got into the exam, mucked up the first four bars and burst into tears- I could hear everything from the waiting room as I waited to take my grade 5...
that could explain why i got distinction- the contrast would have been quite strong even though i was playing at about half speed in one of my pieces

Highest 27 for Grade 3 Piano
Lowest 25 for Grade 3 and 5 Piano. (I've only taken two piano exams so far.)
