Does anyone know whether you can scan music into noteworthy composer? I wanted to use it for easy transposition, and also for electronic accompaniments.

The versions I used always understood MIDI import, is that an option?

Oooo im struggling to remember if you can. Im not sure. Have you checked the help menu that comes with the program? That would be a good place to start. Also look under file for perhaps an "import" function.
Though I stopped using that program and switched to Sibelius 4.
That one allows you to scan in music. There is a demo of the program avaliable too. However, you will need a program called "Photoscore" to be able to scan the music in. Im not familiar with it because I dont have a scanner lol.
Hope this has helped. PM/email me if u need more help and ill try to assist you. smile.gif

I'm new to the software - so starting from first principles. Can I take a piece of sheet music and turn it into a midi? (If so, can I be a pain and ask how?)

I know there are some programs which allow u to scan in print music and they convert that into a midi, but Im not sure if the program you are using is able to. One program I know of is called SmartScore (http://www.musitek.com).

Also what songs are you wanting to scan in? Could it be easier to look for the midi of them or buy the cd?

It's Jesus Christ the Apple Tree, for a singing exam. But I'd like to use the software more broadly, as I don't play piano, and I find accompanying myself on guitar gets me in the wrong position for singing, so it would be good to have it play the accompaniment for me.

I'll have a look at the link you've provided - thanks!

The site above has the song as a midi file. You could prob use your software to transpose that easily. That could be another option. As for scanning in music in Noteworthy, I dont think its possible. I had a look at their site and couldnt find any info on scanning in. However, I may be wrong smile.gif

Ah that's a different version of the song (just in case anyone else is prepping the same song for exams)
