chopet
Im Chopet (not my real name). Im 19.Ive been playing piano since around age 13. Got honours on grade 8 a few years back, did one post grade 8 exam, sat a diploma (which I will hopefully resit this summer).I teach piano part-time. I appreciate all kinds of music but im more into classical than anything else. Ive been teaching on and off for about a year and a half.I spend most of my time playing music, practicing, reading about music, messing about on the internet, reading a bit. I play a violin a bit. Im hoping to go to music college, but will probably wait until im 23 or so, and Ive no idea where to go yet!!! Anyway, yup, I think thats about as much as there is to me......
Alibonebone!
I'm Alice 17 and live on the Isle Of Man. I'm in Yr13 studying physics , chemistry and music. I'm joining the Royal Marines Band Service to embark on my musical career when I leave school. I do sports 5 days a week and play in quite a few groups. I play trombone (specifically bass trombone) and cello & love them both. I also ride a motorbike and have my eye on a rather nice Kawasaki at the moment biggrin.gif My other hobby is drinking coffee. I love music from the romantic era, but enjoy pretty much everything else. Except most modern music.

musicmad_banana

I'm Hannah and I'm from Northern Ireland. I'm 16 and play piano, clarinet and alto sax. I absolutely love languages and need to come up with a job that will let me see the world and speak and learn lots of new languages. Spanish is my speciality biggrin.gif
I don't like classical music but I'm into pretty much everything else. Except rap. I love French and Spanish music!! I have a dog and a cat who are very cute and cuddly and I love Chinese food smile.gif
Rosie_piano_cello
I'm Rosie (well, ok it's Rosemary... ph34r.gif ), age 16, and I live in a small village in Devon. I have long, straight, brown hair and blue eyes. I've been playing piano since I was 8 (against my parents' wishes, having begged them since I was 4!) and will probably be taking grade 7 in summer, depending on whether I actually choose to take the exam, which keeps having to be postponed for various reasons. I also play cello and I've played for about a year and am roughly grade 5ish standard, although the thought of doing any exams on it is truly terrifying! I taught myself to play descant, treble and tenor recorders when I was 6, but unfortunately gave these up in the excitement of starting piano, which I really regret. Hopefully one day I'll get the time to start again...

I listen to all types of music, especially jazz, and I am addicted to listening to jazz radio on www.last.fm! My other hobbies include walking (did Ten Tors a couple of years back), badminton, reading (the Time Traveller's Wife is ace!) and writing stories. My favourite animal is probably a sloth biggrin.gif and my favourite colour is blue. Also, I adore cats and have two very sweet cats called Merlin and Boddington. *Fingers crossed the picture works*, here they are, and as you can see they love each other very much...!

My baby blue is alseep upstairs trying to recover from her op. She's looking so sorry for herself - big shaved patch, stitches, bandage on front leg and lampshade on head! Poor soul. Cooked her chicken for tea, then had to feed her little bits because she couldn't get her head close enough to the bowl!!!
Rosie_piano_cello
Aww, hope she recovers quickly! smile.gif Merlin has just gone blind in the last couple of weeks, so now I have to sit by him while he eats his dinner because every time he looks up, he loses his dinner and can't find it again! His sense of smell is not very good, so I have to guide him back to his bowl again every 2 minutes... He is not so lucky as to get chicken for tea though, as unfortunately for him, he lives in an all vegetarian household!
Bb Clarinet
My name's Liam and I'm 17 years old. I was born in London, then i moved to Leeds when I was 4, then New York when i was 8, then back to england (Halifax) when I was 11, and now I live in grey-cumbria, where I'm studying for my a2-levels (maths, french, sociology, italian and media studies) in order to go to university in September 2007. Extra-curriculum, I play the clarinet (grade 8) and the piano (no formal qualifications). I have blonde hair but I still force it to be much bleachier than it actually is (so I'm surprised I have any hair left), my financial situation is slightly worrying, my health is not tip-top, but I like my life (except being asthmatic). I like making films and clothes.

She's much brighter today, thanks. I'm veggie, but I make exceptions for this little one. Her sense of smell wasn't too good when she came to me - had cat flu - so it had to be Felix for tea. She couldn't smell her bicuits and wouldn't eat them. She now goes wild for fish and chicken!
Karis
My names Karis,i'm 14 in year 10 and I live in a village near Durham. I've played tennor horn since I was 8 and play a bit of cornet to. I'm taking grade 5 theory in march and hopefully grade 6 practical in July. I like most types of music and I have 2 dogs called Hamish and Todd biggrin.gif

Yeah be Rabbi Josh!! Oh yeah talking about films we make them too. We've made home versions of Little Britain and Most Haunted, which are pretty funny. Then my friend Alex makes proper ones with his friend. They pay people and have used about thirty people. Aswell, they've edited it all on Pinnacle 9 (well not all cos they haven't finished it) and they look really good.

Just out of interest Rosie what do you feed your cat? My family is also all vegetarian and I don't like feeding Puff and the dogs meat but I'd always thought that that was the only way. I'd be really interested in perhaps weaning them onto a more vegetarian diet.

Both my cats eat tinned cat meat. I think it is possible for cats to become vegetarian, but you either have to give them loads of supplements every day, or buy horrendously expensive prepared tinned food. To be honest I really don't think my cats would take very well to being vegetarian anyway! They go on hunger strike if I give them the wrong flavour, so I don't think vegetables would go down too well with them! rolleyes.gif

Don't try to make your cats veggie. Unlike humans, they ARE designed to eat meat. If they don't have it they go blind and die. Apparently.

Seriously, veggie cats are not a good idea. It's a bit different with dogs, who are naturally more omnivorous...

Hey there! Seeing as i'm pretty new this seemed a good place to say hi, hehe

I'm Sian, i'm 19, live on a small-holding in deepest, darkest South Wales..
A little about me:.. Well, I'm a bit of a waste of space at the moment.. on a gap year where i'd intended to get a job, earn money, and do loadsa travelling and interesting stuff like that.. unfortunately, i still can't drive, so can't get a job (live miles from anywhere), so can't earn money, so can't afford to travel, lol.. oops, well planned out sian! huh.gif
Hmm, but anyway.. I'm currently on the reserve list for RNCM, reeeally hoping to get a place next year, but just have to wait and see now really. I principally play oboe, but usually play cor anglais in orchestras and stuff, cos not many people have their own, lol.
Also play tenor sax and piano to a fairly high standard, and starting clarinet for fun (just finished teaching myself abracadabra clarinet, lol.. yey! tongue.gif). Oh, and am probably the WORST guitar player you'l ever hear! Truly apalling. smile.gif
Member of tons of different orchestras and bands, including the National Youth Orchestra of Wales.. basically play anywhere i can! Spend my whole summer on courses and tours, with other mad random music people! Gotta love it. biggrin.gif
I'm into most any type of music, but in particular love listening to ska, punk, jazz.. actually, yeah, lotsa stuff really. Easier just to say i don't really like r&b, dance, death metal or rap.. apart from that... all good biggrin.gif
Some other stuff i like:
Skiing, coffee, horses/riding, pirates, family, going to gigs, travelling, animals (have 4 horses, 3 cats, and 2 dogs), skanking, swords (i have the coolest scimitar biggrin.gif), mates, random drunken 5am conversations, ice cream!!, fantasy writing, taking tons of pointless photos ... that sort of thing cool.gif

So yeah.. Hi! And if ya wanna know anything else, then.. well.. just ask! tongue.gif
The Oboemeister
It has to be dogs, so much nicer!!
Actually, I like cats, they taste just like chicken.

No I won't try and make my kitty become a vegetarian. Sorry it was just that I must have misread Rosie's post as I was under the impression that her cats were. I think Puff is quite happy with her diet of Whiskas Singles. I need to get her a birthday present as she turns 13 this month (we don't know the exact day because she was a stray). Any ideas?

Puff would never sleep in a basket! She likes sleeping under the duvet of my bed, or on top of any clothes which are lying around (preferably black clothes as the cat hair shows up most on dark colours rolleyes.gif) or squashing between the radiator and the bookcase...Last Christmas we bought her a cat radiator bed and we had to return it to the shop ph34r.gif . So many good cat pictures!

I-L - I did Biology/Chemistry/Maths at A level and found a fair bit of overlap. So much so that while the chemistry bods were learning about the structure of DNA, Those who had covered it in Biology already were taken to a brewery for a room-spinningly-fun field trip! Can't speak for geography, though.

My cat got catnip teabags for christmas - loved them! Mostly very amusing for the assembled humans, as at first he didn't realise he'd taken it out of the box, put his head back into the box and got his head stuck laugh.gif
cheeble
Well I'm cheeble.

I'm 5'2" tall, 18 and a half years old, dark blonde hair, green eyes...

During the holidays I live in the most boring village in the world. I have two dogs, a rabbit and a guinea pig. One of the dogs and the rabbit have aggression problems. The other dog is epileptic. As far as I know there is nowt wrong with the guinea pig.

I also have a 16-year-old brother who plays cello, trumpet and drums.

During termtime I live in halls at Cambridge: I'm a Choral Scholar at Christ's College and I sing alto in the choir although I'm really a soprano. I auditioned for the alto place because there weren't any spaces for sopranos, and I share this place with a countertenor. The choir is touring Australia and NZ next year.

I play first violin in CUMS1 (one of the university orchestras) and principal viola with the college symphony orchestra and chamber orchestra. I play tenor recorder in the college Recorder Consort and French horn with the college's fresher Brass Quintet.

I took up rowing in Michaelmas Term and will be transferring to a senior boat in Lent Term. I am also on the college JCR which means I organise next year's Freshers' Week.

I study Music: I'm currently procrastinating on here to avoid writing an essay entitled "Much twentieth century music demonstrates the adoption and adaption of old musical manners. Discuss what you consider to be the most original and artful compositions in which this is a characteristic." I also have to write an essay on the third movement of the Bach A minor concerto before I go back.

I am very silly.

That's all.
katyjay
Hello I'm Katyjay

I'm an ex-teenager, ex-Oxford undergraduate, ex-mathematician, ex-lifeguard, ex-teacher-trainee, ex-telephone operator, ex-physiotherapists's assistant, ex-chartered accountant and ex-alto.

Alternatively I'm a recently-started soprano singer who's trying to turn professional, a very new singing teacher and an even newer learner of the violin.

Er - that's about it. Ex-tremely dull, I'm afraid!

The real thing, of course. And I'm not an ex-graduate, hence my choice of words.

For the nosy curious among you - I was at Christ Church.
Kate
Ok then....

I'm Kate and I'm in Year 12 studying Music, Maths Spanish and French. I play Clarinet as my main instrument and piano as my second. I am also teaching myself saxophone.

I am the smallest person to have posted so far I think, at the grand height of 5'0, which is a pain when you sing in a choir, as you can't see unless you stand with year 7. I'm 16 and clearly haven't got any taller since the age of 12. tongue.gif

Interests other than music include dance, though I'm a bit rusty as I have only just re-taken it up in a bid to improve my posture. I am also a bit of a language fanatic, but I like Spanish the best and would take holidays in Spain every other week if I could. They are just so much more laid back there!

Pet cockateil called Oz - he is talented! He can dance and sing Sailor's Hornpipe at the same time. Though he does improvise the end as he can't quite remember it! laugh.gif

Plans for the future - I would like to go to music college, but I'm in a bit of a quandry as far as that goes... would love to study in London, but living costs are sky-high. I could stay local and think about RNCM, but being a member of the Junior Department means it's likely I'd like a change!

I think that's it...
