Hi, I would like to ask around if there is anyone doing the piano accompaniment for violin grade 5, list A1: Giga? The piano accompaniment is four pages long and I have trouble turning the pages. I couldn't possibly photostate the 2 pages and stick, could I? Or how do you suggest to turn it? Thanks.

I'm not sure that accompanists are really allowed page turners until Grade 8. You can certainly photocopy the pages and stick them though! That's what my accompanist has always done in the past

I was just reading in the exam guidelines that this is the only acceptable use of photocopy music... So I'm sure it would be ok for you to do it.

I had to accompany this last term - I photocopied the 2nd page, and sellotaped it onto the left side of the 1st page. Then I played the 1st page, turned over at the repeat sign, and played pages 2, 3 and 4 without a break. I hope this helps!

I've also done this and used photocopies. The examiner did not mention it.

Ahhh... you've just reminded me! I need to call my accompanist. Yes, I'm doing the Giga, but I left the music with her since last year! Good thing she lives nearby. I forgot to tell her my plan has changed! I was thinking of doing the Con Affetuoso by Degli, the Berceuse and the Silver Tears of the Moon the last time I saw her!
But I know she practiced the Giga for a friend's violin exam last year, so THAT shouldn't be a problem.
