Foregive my lack of knowledge please with both computers and music. I am not at all musical, this is a plea on behalf of my daughter(9). She cannot get her Sibelius to do what she wants it to do. I have tried different ways for days now to try and alter settings etc, but have got no where.
Her problem is, she wants to play her keyboard and the notes appear has she has played them on the screen.
We have established she needs to do this using Flexi Time Input. (We can only get it to do one stave at a time inputting the other way and have to change the note via key pad on screen)However the notes are not appearing as she has played them. Sometimes they appear as all semi-quavers, what do I need to do to set it up correctly for her, so what she plays appears as she plays it., and can these settings be saved so they stay that way, so she does not have to change them each time.

Are you pressing the record button before you play, or just simply playing? I think that if the record button is not pressed in Sibelius, then note entry will be just as it would be using the mouse. Hence, if semiquaver is what was selected on the keypad, then all of the notes would appear as semiquavers.

I'm not too sure if that's it, as I've only ever used a keyboard for entry once at school, but I do remember having to press something before playing (which caused a metronome to start too).
