What type of voice have you got? I know a lot of songs of the right standard, but cannot advise until you give me an Idea of your range.

To start your compositions, you should have been given a brief.

What is your 1st instument: you normally have to write something that "exploits the resource" so look at the music you are playing at the moment.

Normally your second composition has to reflect one of your key study areas, many GCSE students write Waltzes as they fit in with Music for Dance, or if you are into minimalism you could write a piece that is minimalist.

Your teacher should be giving you this advice and supporting you. Go and ask them.
