Hi,
I won't start to revise yet but for Edexcel set works (Pop/jazz and large ensemble) what is the best way to revise them? I don't know how I will - there is so much!

I didn't really do much last year (AS Pop and Jazz, Large Ensemble Music too!). I read through my notes the weekend before and highlighted important facts and dates. I also made notes on the most important information, eg musical features, historical context for the indepth works to make sure I could write it all down from memory. Don't worry too much about the 'non-indepth' works, just make sure you know any terms or expressions that could come up and where to identify them on the score.

The best revision method that I found was to do lots of past papers, as similar types of questions come up every year. I got 117/120 for the Unit 3 module without spending hours and hours revising pointless details. Most of the questions you will be able to answer by looking at the score in the exam, and some by common sense (eg for social context). Also, make sure you rub out any pencil notes on your score before the exam!

Feel free to ask if you have any other questions!

Well, Nicki, what I've been told with my set works (Bach Haydn and Schubert) is summarising the major points in a table. Sorry I can't offer much more help, since I pretty much know the works at the back of my hand blink.gif
