Hi all, a late 'Happy New Year' to you all. I spent from Boxing day till Wed 6th Jan in hospital with pneumonia, rushed in on Boxing day. I'm still feeling really weak and can't play my clarinet for a month.
Feeling a little on the low side after the excitement of my Grade 8

Sorry to hear that you have been sick and in hospital. Hope you feel better soon. Sorry that you can't play your clarinet for a month either. That's too bad.
Amber
So sorry to hear your news, but glad that you're on the mend. Take good care of yourself, and don't try to rush back to things too soon.

[Hands Trudi a big, fragrant, lovely bouquet of flowers to wish her well]

Trudi, so sorry to hear you have been ill, and I hope it won't be too long before you are better and playing your instrument again. Just take it easy and look after yourself. smile.gif

I expect you will be able to manage a little gentle piano playing in less than a month. Bach chorales can be very therapeutic! Here are two Web sites where you can download free sheet music.

http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Johann_Sebastian_Bach
http://www.mutopiaproject.org/

CPDL is the Choral Public Domain Library which has a pretty enormous collection of choral music, and the above address takes you straight to an index of music by J. S. Bach including chorales, some on 2 staves and some on 4. You can click on the Acrobat icon, or on Gif, see the image on screen and print it. For some of them you need to click on the title first. The Mutopia Project has a bigger variety of music types - I recently downloaded scores and parts of some Haydn string quartets which are excellent except that whoever organised them hasn't noticed that string players can't turn pages while playing...

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

You poor thing - how ghastly not to be able to play your clarinet, too ohmy.gif . I'm hopelessly addicted to it, and can't bear to go even a day without doing some sort of playing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Hope you feel better soon.

Once you start playing - take it easy - slowly and carefully!!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I have a chest infection at the moment, which I know isn't nearly as awful (I've had pneumonia before), but it's enough to stop me singing, so I know how rotten it is not to be able to 'do your thing' musically.

I hope you feel better really soon, and that the rest of the year get's better very quickly!

Hope you're feeling better soon.

That really doesn't seem fair, after getting 'flu before your exam, and all....(had you managed to get better from that first, or did it all follow on?). I do hope you're feeling better soon, and that you can find something to occupy you until you're allowed to play again. huh.gif

Firstly, thanks everyone for your kind words ! And the 'bunch of flowers' !!
I don't think the 'flu' symptoms I had just before my exam were infact 'flu' but a forerunner of this horrid pneumonia - tiredness, cold, shivering - I think it was a sign that all was not well !!
It's really frustrating not being able to do anything, I haven't even the energy to think about playing the piano yet, still I expect it'll improve soon

Poor Trudi sad.gif Hope you feel better soon. My (clarinet) Babies and I send best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I've been unable to play before, with broken fingers, so know how frustrating it can be. Let me know if your clarinet needs exercise whilst you convalesce and I'll do the honours.
