As most of you know, I'm taking Grade 7 Recorder with Trinity in June, and as one of the options, a technical study instead of scales is allowed, which is what my teacher has got us to do. But...I'm using her copy of the Christopher Ball Advanced Studies for Treble Recorder (2nd study - Arpeggio study) with all her markings in it, and this is what I've been following. Do you think that it's ok to continue using my teachers interpretations or should I make my own? Granted I've done a couple of things slightly differently but that's about it (P.S. there's virtually no articulation or dynamics)

Following her articulation and dynamics might be good, unless you've got a better idea or feel? You could find your own phrasing and expression, coz that varies when you play anway. She moght want you to use her markings though.

It does seem to be very effective. Otherwise it would be a nightmare trying to make 3 pages of arpeggios sound even REMOTELY interesting!
