Well, if I can do Module 4 Music (A2 written exam) in June (its with AQA) would anyone care to give me a hand with Modules 4 and 5? Nat has already agreed to help but the more the merrier! I'd like to *try* get A level Music done by January 2007 if possible. This way I can continue Biology Chemistry and Geography quite nicely, have a 5th full A level and know that I did something not many people do i.e. complete a whole A level before the end of the 2 years and take an A2 exam in the AS year

I have a fair idea about the Stravinsky, like techniques, terminology etc but obviously I have a lot to learn!

Module 4 takes place 20th of June! ohmy.gif Better get cracking

There's a massively long thread on Stravinksy that me and Nat had, which I found really useful. You could search that, or we could set off a different one to test you?! Get learning the stravinksy early-there's a lot there!

Also, my teacher put on his notes on the internet at musicland.com/co.uk (can't remember which). They're really good, and I swore by his notes! The study guide is WRONG in lots of places!! I dunno where you'd find them, but he's called Andrew Coxon.

Have you started your investigation yet?

That webpage doesn't work. I intend to start working at the Stravinsky as soon as I've done my January Modules.

Need a recording/score of it....What kinda things are there to learn about it?

Well once you get your score, you need to go through it and analyse it in quite a lot of detail, which is where the study guide and my teacher's notes helped me a lot. For example, there is masses you can say about the first bar, let alone the first movement. The whole thing seems to be based on the use of the tritone, movement by step and the use of the third and some other things I can't remember! Either way, it would be a good idea to go through and work out where he uses the motif heard in the first bar, since it comes up many times! Also it's "relations", like the trombone part when they first enter in the first movement (not sure of the bar, but it's just over the page of 1a)

work out structure, what sort of harmony, how it relates to the story (learn and research that too) and the differences in the music between magical creatures and human creatures.

Make sure your score is the one they recommend, since if you have a different one then the page references in the study guide won't match up.

I'll add you to msn then you can pester me all you want, like I pestered my teachers! Nat said she'd help too, I think?
