This is in the Suzuki cello book 3 and is on the grade 4 list.
The only comment on our edition is "Presto"
I was wondering what speed do people actually take it for a gr 4 level?
(A bit more specifically than "at a tempo where you can still play with a decent tone")
After all, a gr 8 player could always play it faster and smoother, but what is considered a gr 4 level?
Thanks

There is an AB grade 4 violin piece at the moment which has a Presto section within it. The recommended metronome mark is 112 crotchets per minute. This is not an unreasonable speed at grade 4, but since all the notes are quavers and semiquavers, it requires nimble fingers and good bow control.

Thanks Amandal, that seems far more reasonable than the 168 the metronome had for Presto. That meant it was more like a tremolo that didn't seem to tally quite with gr 4.
