Latin
Biology (we did Chemistry and Physics as compulsory)

I took Geography Biology and Music for GCSE and AS (+ Chemistry)

Good ideas, both are fairly rare but respected. Philosophy AS likewise, would look most impressive.

Business Studies is a bit of a joke subject so I hear, people take it if they don't want to work hard. If you have an interest in the A level, you don't need to GCSE at all. I would strongly suggest you reconsider. D+T is apparently really hard! But everyone seems to enjoy it, so if you like it then cool.

I agree with bohemian; in my school the slackers tend to take Business, because they see it as a doss subject (not saying that is necessarily is!). If your school offers Economics you could consider that... it's fairly similar.
DT is not as easy as it may seem. You have to have a coursework portfolio, where you design something, do questionnaires, actually do it, evaluate it and all that jazz (I think Car Expert takes DT, you may ask him what it's like).
Otherwise, I think those choices are nice....

Italian is pretty unusual, music is hard work but can be quite good, I don't take business studies but most of the comments I hear from my friends who took it (who are generally pretty hardworking and intelligent) are that it's not very interesting. D&T is supposed to be good if you're good at the subject (I'm appalling and so didn't take it!) and philsophy AS sounds fantastic (although it could be quite hard.)
Hope this helps, best of luck

I do Economics. Its meant to be a lot better than business studies, as you learn about different aspects of the whole economy not just how a business works.
I'm also doing History, RE full course (just Christianity for some reason because thats al my school do ..but is really good.

), French, all the compulsaries and i also did fast track music.
Wish I'd done food though..sounds good.

Back last century, my GCSE choices were based as much on the subjects I didn't want to do as the ones I did! I was delighted to drop drama, geography and RE, so ended up doing English language, English literature, maths (all compulsory), French, music, home economics (I think it's called food technology these days), history, and double science (which meant I was conned into doing some biology; I'd have preferred separate physics and chemistry and no biology), then Spanish in the first year of sixth form.
