I like his music. It's much better than other so called "hits".
A stupid micky-take imho.

au contraire, right on the money I reckon! But to each their own.
On the other hand, you have a very very valid point about the quality of other hits. Or lack thereof.

Listened to a total of about 5 seconds of that before it irritated me enough to turn it off.
If ya want to hear some decent remakes / mick-takes, (that don't insult the listeners intelligence) check out 'Me First and the Gimme Gimmes'... an improvement, i promise

The vast majority of bands i like are either rock/indie or random classical stuff...however i DO like James Blunt...*shakes fist at video thing*

I find James Blunt intensely irritating and find he has a freakily high-pitched and annoying voice.

I don't like him, but I don't hate him either. To me, he's just a guy who sings on the radio.

Don't feel too bad Noodelz, this is all about people's tastes in music so we're never all going to agree!
aah for the good ol' days of Wield Al Yankovic's parodies...

I forgot about him! And now he's in my head, and i cant resist singing!
'Well he looks like a muppet, but he's wrinked and green, oh my Yoda.. Y - O - D - A. Yoda.. Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoodddaaa!'
(what was the name of the original for that one?
*to the tune of McArthur Park*:..
'Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark... all the dinosaurs are ru-ning wiiiiild!.. Someone let T'rex out of his pen...I'm afraid they're gonna harm me, cos they sure don;t act like Barney, and they think that i'm their dinner, not their frieeeeend! Ooooh noooooooo!'
Why do I love that stuff??

Meh, i think he's ok actually. It's not exactly my favourite style of music, and doubt i'll remember him in 5 years time, but there's really nothing in his music to take exception or offense at so i can't imagine how anyone could actually hate it. It can be a little bland, but thats about the worst you can say about it.
It has been really overplayed though.

overplayed, over-rated, over-egoed, over-why is he nominated for a BRIT award?

over-egoed?

He seemed quite shy on Jools Holland, and terrified when he was performing! Thought he was gonna run out of the room at one point!
Bless.

yeah he looked really shy on jools holland! i don't get why everyone calls it bland - i prefer it to the trash rap on some other songs, and at least he doesn't have to get half-naked girls dancing around him to sell the records

crazy cow you're so right. I don't care for the music of Mr Blunt, but I don't find it as nasty as a lot of what comes out of Mr 50 Cent's record label! And that latest Beyonce song which just seems to be the same line over and over...
At least Beautiful/Gullible has a melody and some kind of structure!
rant over. sorry R&B/hiphop lovers.

Agreed, completely!

Hmm.. I just realised my earlier comment doesn't say quite what i was meaning...
I don't personally find him especially bland - I was trying to make the point that if that really is the biggest criticism you can level at his music, well then - big deal!.. i don't get the way people can therefore be so harsh about him, when there really honestly isn't anything in his music that anyone could find offensive - especially in comparison with most of the rubbish thats around at the moment!

None taken, a lot of hip hop is actually just idiots trying to look good, like 50 Cent.

Not so much offensive (well the swearing could be), but irritating, overplayed and sung in an annoying voice.
