Can anyone recommend books for technique, about tone, breathing, and so on for the flute? Couldn't find anything but absolute beginners in the music shop today. Thanks.
Beverley.

The Tevor Wye books are good which is what I'd recomend!

Agreed, the books of Trevor Wye are very good. Anything by Marcel Moyse is also worth searching out.

The Trevor Wye books come in an omnibus edition which would keep you occupied for quite some while: there are 5 books and they cover tone, breathing, intonation, technique... among other things (can't remember off the top of my head) - the Practice Books.

I'd also recommend Light Aerobics, Flute Aerobics and Sequentials by Claire Southworth. The're published by JustFlutes and available from their website,
here.
