can anybody tell me how to score high marks for grade 8 piano exams in the pieces and what amount of technique is required can you suggest some books? for that.i was thinking of learing violin and i am 22 is it possible if so can you suggest some books so that i could do a little self study

I know it sounds a little silly, but I presume you are already studying piano, and are around grade 7 level?

Well here's the book, 'These Music Exams', that tells you what the examiners are looking for in the exam. Unfortunately it's impossible to express a standard of musical playing in words really so it could mean anything blink.gif. To add to chocolatedog's question do you have a teacher? They will most likely be able to tell you if you've reached the required standard by listening to your playing, and if not suggest ways to improve. Have you done any exams before? The standards are similar so that should help you to judge what is required.
