Full Version: Thinking Of Buying A Yahama U3

Having received some excellent advice from members of this forum, I am thinking of buying a Yamaha U3 for my daughter (about to start Grade 8). I'm a lttle concerned about how these instruments might react to being installed in a room with central heating (away from radiator).

I have obtained differing advice from dealers - do any of you have experience of this scenario?

Thanks

Jeanne

Yamaha is a pretty decent make of piano - the pianos that are sold in the UK are designed for use in the UK, and as standard houses in the UK have central heating, yes, it should be fine. Don't know much about U3s, I've played a U1 and it was a very fine piano!

If it was right up against the radiator, I'd be a little more careful, but Yamaha being Yamaha, you should be fine. smile.gif

Good luck!

Thanks for the rapid reply oddball, yes it will be positioned about 8 feet from the nearest radiator.

My U1 (5 yrs old) is about 8 feet from a radiator too.

The tuner came on his yearly visit this week - had gone very slightly flat. He didn't mention central heating - Oddball's right!

Thanks JohnS

It looks like a U3 might be heading this way, even though it could bankrupt me sad.gif

Thank

I have a U1 of 1969 vintage... It's marvellous and is just a few feet from the rad... tuning is excellent, touch is excellent, tone is excellent... I would thoroughly recommend Yamaha...

Hi smile.gif

I have a U3 in a rather small room so it is quite close to the radiator. No problems with it at all and its a wonderful instrument! smile.gif smile.gif
