Hey!
I recently got a pair of Emperor clarinets & have my olD bUFFET B12 lying around. I'm thinking of selling the B12, to help get the money to buy a new soprano sax that I need. Do you think i Should sell it, or keep it & if so, why??
I don't really know, as I've never been in this situation before.

thanks

Well, if you don't need it, might as well get rid of it. Unfortunately, there's an absolute glut of second hand clarinets on the market and I don't think you'd get much for it. Fortunately, the B12 is the most well known beginner's model.

To get the best price, I'd suggest looking at ebay.com and ebay.co.uk for a few days to get an idea of what they sell for online, then advertise it for a bit more locally - in your library, local paper, college etc.

Make sure it's clean, the keys polished, and even get a reed (beginner strength) already set on the MP and check that it plays well.

Or....why not spray it gold and pretend it's a soprano sax? tongue.gif

If the instrument is in good shape, you won't have much trouble selling it, as the B12 is a very popular student instrument with a decent reputation. How much you'd get for it is a different matter. I'm inclined to agree with stevensfo, I'd be surprised if you got a great deal of money for it. To add to stevensfos list, think about putting an ad in your local music shop. Some of the local LEA music centres in my area also have places where you could put a small ad. In both these cases, it is inevitable that you'll get musicians looking at them (thus also prospective customers).
