I have an Aulos Tenor which I like to play around with now and again. I'm probably being thick, but how do you play low C sharp on it? I can only get C natural by pressing the key at the bottom. Is it possible to play C sharp at all?

Argh if this is what I think it is, I HATE these recorders with a passion, my bass is similar, I can't get a low F# out of them.
If there's only one key on your tenor, you will NOT be able to get a C#, only a C.

You have my sympathy - I keep reading that it isn't so important to have a low C# on a tenor, but the piece I'm currently learning has several. Lucky my instrument has no keys, and double holes instead. Doubly lucky that I've got big hands...

Simple question, simple answer. No. To play low C sharp you need either double keys or no keys.

I bought an Angel tenor last week. That has both C keys. Quite a nice recorder, actually. S.
