Personally I think Einaudi is overrated. Although not quite as depressingly monotonous as Nyman, his music all blends into one after just about 20 minutes of listening.

I don't know the grade for Nefeli but for all Einaudi fans his website is:
http://www.ludovicoeinaudi.com/ but i guess most of you knew that anyway.
Been to one of his concerts and he was fantastic!
I think I Giorni is his best CD.

I am soooooo pleased to learn that someone other that me thinks Einaudi is overrated. I just switch off when I hear his music. I have really tried to like and understand it ........ but I can't find anything in it to understand! OK, so occassionally the timing is interesting - but then what? What baffles me is why Classic FM built him up when there are so many classical pianists who are more deserving (in my opinion).
As for Nyman - 'nuf said
I watched the DVD of The Piano last night and really I ended up thinking the whole production team as well as the musical director was barking!!!!!!!!!!! What a yawn!!!
The cast certainly deserved their Oscars for staying with the film. In my opinion of course.

Yeah yeah I have played it !! - it's very relaxing!
I can really see why you like him so much. I think I liked Le Onde and Passagio best - but that could change, as I've not done much more than sight-read through as yet. I wonder if I should have got "the Best of ..."
as Le Onde doesn't include Nefelia ..... I guess if I get really hooked I'll get that as well lol !
As it was I spent nearly £70 in the music shop .... eeeek
