Full Version: Starting To Learn The Violin In My Late 40's Early 50's

I have taken up violin lessons (now aged 51) and my teacher says, despite learning late in life I am doing quite well and if I was to be entered for an exam she would put me in for Grade 2. I would like to maybe get together with people similar standard to me who have taken up learning the violin and be able to play together with them in a small group. I live in Kent and I would welcome anyone in the Sevenoaks, T. Wells, Tonbridge areas to maybe get in touch.

Why don't you come to the Adult Learners' concert at Egham on 18th February? There's going to be a string group there, and you can get to meet some of the other Forum members! smile.gif

Yes indeed - have a look here for details. Even if you don't fancy playing, it's good fun to come along and support the performers and meet everyone. And if you do fancy playing, so much the better!

Cheers

Let's keep on top of concert promotions.

(Do you both do that off forums too, I know I do)

Unfortunately, I am supporting the orchestral concert of the Philharmonic choir that I belong to on that day so cannot make the Egham concert. I have already bought a ticket for their concert. I will look out for others that you may have.

Thank you. I would like to have come along to the Egham concert but I have a ticket to hear the orchestra of the Philharmonic society that I sing with on that day. I will keep a look out for others.

Yay! Good for you - I hope you're enjoying it. I'd love to play the violin.
