Folks, I'm not going to be able to play in the string ensemble at Egham.
My shoulder's playing up again, and I really don't think I can sustain playing for the length of the work Willobie's arranged.
I'm hoping that I'll be able to cope with playing the duet with Suepea, but if so, that will be my absolute limit.
I'm sorry to let you all down like this. At the moment it's looking like there's one first violin and one second violin and that's it....

I hope the small amount of recordering you did today didn't cause a large relapse. Hope it starts easing up soon.

Oh poor you. But do take it easy, I know you will be sensible.
You must have been practising too hard!

I don't think it made much difference, to be honest. I think there was more trouble caused by changing gears driving - trying to get into reverse was a bit of a nightmare.
Anyway, my violin lesson this evening was even more perfunctory, hence my decision now.

Oh katyjay! I'm so sorry your shoulder is still playing up.
Look after yourself, and I second Jane, take it easy... no point exacerbating it at all.
Hope you're able to rest it so it improves, & hope you're not in too much pain.
(& don't even think about the ensemble - your shoulder is more important!... I can play violin... I'm sure we'll work it out.)
Look after yourself!
well, if you can't play, someone has to stand by with the stopwatch and gong ...
Kidding!!! - sorry to hear that you're not going to be able to join the ensemble, but at least you get to be one of us lucky folk who'll get to enjoy listening.

Ouch, you poor thing! I agree you really must give your shoulder a chance to recover properly before you start playing again - and then take it very gently!
The ALSO will be fine - I'm sure that some of the multi-instrumentalists (sarah.flute, purple viola & pinkoi) might be persuaded to switch to violin if necessary... Are the gaps because people have said they can't come - or just because they haven't sent their forms yet? If the latter, perhaps some reminders might be in order?

I don't mind switching, so when you know, let me know!

There are two people I haven't heard from at all, despite having sent reminders - Lady Moonlight and Oboebunny. I'll try and contact them again, though. But it might be wise, if Sarah doesn't mind swapping, to have Sarah play a violin.

I don't mind, as long as I know

I'll assume violin unless I hear differently, if we should get a sudden influx of violinists!
Must buy train ticket.

I'm really sorry......I'm not going to be able to make it, as I haven't been well and can't manage public transport at the moment

I hope I haven't messed up plans for the string group

Hope you're feeling better real soon Toni.
There'll be an empty chair in the violins...awww
Well actually 2 empty chairs as Katyjay is injured
Just a minute, I'm not going to have to carry a part on my own am I? Is someone trying to tell me something??........Never mind I'll just play REALLY LOUD!

How many of us are there? Taking into account that I'm rapidly morphing into violin mode in all areas.
Just trying to record myself to help myself practice... I'm sure I wasn't having this much trouble before Christmas!
