GCSE music exam (edexcel) on the 25th of May!! Who's excited??
I'm really quite worried about it actually, I'm doing it a yr early, and there's real pressure on me to get an A*!
Having said that, I got full marks on my coursework, and that means that I'm going into the exam with a C. I only need 66/120 to get an A*.

What are you guys most worried about in the exam? Personally, it's area study 2 on serialism and experimental music. Help!!

GD luck to all ohmy.gif

Me too! Ahh! I was one mark away from full marks in my coursework but i am terrible in the exams!

hey pianoforte... i am doing the same board as you.....i think the subject itself will be fine.....but i absolutely hate the "world music" chapter.....
cecilia
yes! me too!
i'm doing it 2 years early and am terrified about the listening exam!
i think the hardest thing is area of study 4 the fusions topic although i got full marks on that bit in the mock!
everyone is saying i'll get A* but i'm not so sure...
only 1 week to go now!
by the way, do you know any good revision websites? the bbc one seems very AQA centred and doesn't cater that well for the poor edexcel candidates
hey did you notice on the understanding the brief pro forma they wrote "inseted" not "inserted"- does make you wonder if your papers are going to the right people, doesn't it! biggrin.gif
Good luck everyone!

Excited?!?!!??! I'm terrified, i really want to do well, my solo was only so-so because i was so nervous, my duet was incredibly easy so that cant have got me many marks, my compoisitions were rubbish because of all the pressure i was under with everything else at that time, now i'm just terrified about the exam, I'm doing AQA.
cecilia
hey, don't worry- the marks are easy to mess around with because of some scaling thing- i did soooooooooooo badly in my solo because i was too nervous but my teacher awarded me full marks blink.gif
wonder if the moderator will be so kind... unsure.gif

Anyone done OCR music? I did well on my coursework, and the performances went well apart from one slip down a scale, and I think the terminal task was ok too. I got an A in my mock but I really want an A* and we didn't cover area of study 4 (the multicultural stuff) in class. I suppose the exam wasn't too bad.... but start praying!!!
nutter
im doing OCR i have my end of yr 10 exams in 2 weeks so we're getting a past paper. smile.gif just revising area of study 2 and 3 at the mo. looked at AoS 2 as well its quite hard!

Don't worry- my friend told me that if you get an A in the mock you're likely to get A* in the real thing- and she then went on to get B in the mock and is confident she'll get an A.
So's the teacher- but we're with Edexcel.
Results not out until August 26th- dry.gif

hey soph!!!

yep, i did OCR music, (well have just done). i thought the paper was okay. i got full marks on my compositions and practicals but lost one mark on my appraisal sad.gif

you've got to admit though when the song "i will survive" blasted though your exam room you had to laugh and start laughing, our music teacher was boogying at the front of the room............ well funny.

any way, hope you do well, you sound like your on your way for a top mark!!!
