Hey,
Weber was a big clarinet writer - I know he wrote 2 concertos, a concertino & some variations. What did he write for 2 clarinets? I';m doing a duet with another clarinetist, & I know its by Weber - do you know what it might be?? If so, how hard are the parts?? huh.gif

Thanks

You're probably thinking of a different Weber then. The one you're thinking of wrote
A clarinet quintet in B minor(?)
2 Concertos, F minor and E flat respectively
Silvana Variations Op.33
Grande Duo Concertante in E flat
Concertino in E flat (gosh he loved E flat!)

And knowing his writing, they're bound to be pretty hard! That's if it's the one you're on about...

The Weber Quintet is in Bb major; it's the Brahms Quintet which is in B minor.

pianoman84, I can't immediately think of any Weber for two clarinets, so can't tell you how difficult it's likely to be. Can you give us a title or opus number? Also, is it an original piece, or is it an arrangement?

Well I was close tongue.gif

I'm pretty sure there is no original Weber music for 2 clarinets, so 'tis most likely an arrangement smile.gif

There is a fairly evil arrangement of the Duo Concertante for 2 clarinets.

I've only sight-read it through once, I think it would have been easier to sight-read if I hadn't known the original as the clarinet part is split between the 2 instruments. Some of the runs and arpeggio figures really should be left to pianists smile.gif
