I would probably want to be a solo performer- if I get good enough at the violin and flute. I'd also like to try going into pop and rock music- like playing the backing music for bands on an electric violin.

i am actually teaching piano now which is great, but it makes me realise how bad it was for my teachers when i never used to practise!!!
i'd absolutely love to be one of those people who plays a big black grand piano somewhere like the Ritz or Savoy - and i think it'd be slightly less terrifying than concert performances!!!
Accompanying would also be good - my friend and i are about to start giving private performances (she's a flautist and saxophonist and I play piano) so i'm looking forward to that - there are just so many options!!

of course you can! my teacher is a horn player in an orchestra and teaches in the evenings and during the day a few days a week. Even though he's a full time member of the orchestra he's in, there are only two or three rehearsals a week plus the concert- lots of free time left for teaching!

I'd love to be a concert performer- but somehow, i don't think i'll ever be good enough

How come composer isn't included in the list?
I love composing- it's so encouraging to know that you can actually play a piece
exactly how it was meant to sound- right down to the last note (even if the reason for that is the fact you wrote it yourself

)

What about the Army, Royal AIr Force or Royal Marines. They all have vacancies for musicians and its a great way to get paid for doing a hobby.

With the fear of sounding like a naive 5 year old- I want to be a proffessional singer. I don't know exactly how, or if I'm good enough. I'm hoping to go to a conservatoire (fingers crossed)

Ooo...I definitely want to be a professor in music, even though I'm aware of the fact that I'll have to have very good qualifications. Hahaha...however, I've always thought about how nice it would be to be an examiner instead. Being on the other side just appeals to me a lot. Oh well. I think I should just dream on.

I am a dedicated musician and would consider it quite a waste if I did not use the musical ability I have gain in my career. I am not contimplating a career in music but think that music tuition would be an excellent way of suplimenting my income!
