hey folks;

Just in case you don't know...I 'm Back laugh.gif rolleyes.gif
Currently getting ready for my DipAbrsm exam in the mid year...
by the way does anyone know what to write for the programme notes for the exam??
Please don't tell me to read the booklet put out by the board, because I had and I still could not understand what it says... unsure.gif
So does anyone actually had experience on writing programme notes?? Do I have to write about the composer's history?? Or the important facts of the piece or why it is written?? (but how about schubert's sonata?? There isn't a reason why it was written, it just happens to be composed...)
So where should I do the research and what should I write?? Really confused at the moment...
Fen
Pianist_1210, firstly, how about putting your question on the Diploma forum?
Secondly, I don't wish to sound harsh, but do you think that if you don't quite get the advice document you're ready to do the notes?

YetAnotherPianist has created a site about writing programme notes - it's referenced on the diploma forum. Take a look and see if there's enough there to shed some light on the "writing notes" document.

If you've done a few research projects at school (if I recall you're at secondary school) you'll have a reasonable grounding.

Best wishes.

Thanks for your advise...
but how can I move this post to the Dip forum?? sad.gif

You can ask the moderators to do this. But you may find that there are existing topics you can revive or participate in that are there already!
Funnily enough, it's a fairly regular topic of conversation... wink.gif
