Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good/reliable place to shop for a viola bow in Edinburgh please? (my budget's around £500-700)

Thanks a lot in advance!

Stringers of Edinburgh.

Don't know their web address offhand, but a Google search will find it.

I know it's the wrong side of Scotland, but I know an excellent violin maker/dealer in Ayr who would probably send you a selection of bows to try out on spec. His name is Graham Welsh and he has a website at www.theviolinman.co.uk smile.gif

Hope this helps!

Thanks AmandaL - I saw Stringers of Ediburgh on the web but wasn't sure if they're any good.

Thanks oboebunny - but I'm based in Moscow and will only be in Scotland for a few days (I know it's crazy and I should be able to get it at home, probably much cheaper, but there seems to be a shortage of viola bows here at the moment smile.gif )

Might be going to the North of Scotland - is there anything in Inverness perhaps?

i can verify that stringers are very very good! i brought my violin and my cello bow from there. They are my first port of call for anything i need.
