No not really, well it depends. Depending on what instrument you play it works differently.
But assuming you play piano you can be put into different classes such as Russian Composers Specific composers - Mozart, Chopin etc, Beginner Intermediate, Advanced and other random classes

Jersey has somethign like that! Its called Eistedfodd and theres loads of calsses for french, music, danincing, and creative arts as well i ALWAYS enter on violin and piano
