I am, and I know someone else is, I forgot who... anyway, I'm basically trying to see who here play the bass clarinet for a main instrument.

I play the bass clarinet but not as a main instrument as my main instrument is the Bb clarinet. I really like the bass though and I really wish I could play it all the time!

Yes, the bass clar. is much more fun. I've played the contrabass before. Even more fun unless it's a crappy student model....
purple dolphin
I havn't played the contrabass before but I really want to! I play the Eb as well which I really like as you go from one extreme to the other!

I don't know which is which so it doesn't make any difference to me. I just play the Bb, the Eb and the Bb bass as well as I know.

is the Eb you play bigger or smaller than the Bb Bass?
purple dolphin
As far as I am concerned it is the smallest clarinet in the family
LavaLampMaster

purple dolphin
Sorry, I thought there was only the small e flat!

Bass Clarinet is simply the most amazing instrument ever! and of course, I have it mastered....

Bass clarinet is a lovely instrument, but I'm a first choice standard B flat player. I think there should be more music written especially for the bass though.

That's because it's a BASS instrument, and bass clarinet parts in band music are rarely, if EVER interesting.

If you don't like it, ask to move onto sax or clarinet? rolleyes.gif

I play bass clari too. What models are we all playing on? I'm on a Jupiter and desperately saving up for anything that goes down to a low C! lol
