Does anyone know of any easy bassoon music that sounds good i'm currently working at around grade 2 standard and everything ive got is a bit dull and i want something i can try myself

me trying to play the bassoon is hysterical though everyone seems to laugh at me

What they probably find more funny is that you drop it on everyone . It really hurt last time you did that to me.

Weissenborn Studies are good

Speaking from experience....I don't think you can put "easy" and "bassoon" in the same sentence!

Weissenborn is a good study book...

it happens. Unfortunatly, some people are very mean to bassoon players...as they don't apprieciate their skill (or lack of skill in my case)

weissenborn is very good indeed (i was totally brought up on it so i'm biased )

also there's that microjazz one - mostly odd rhythms but the notes aren't too bad.

and you can't put "cheap" and "bassoon" in the same sentence either!

I know i've only just started and my mum already thinks it is too expensive

Try your local Oxfam (or other) second hand bookshop - our local Oxfam does music.
I picked up a first book of trombone solos that played very nicely on bassoon.




Not cheap. Not in tune. Not easy. But don't we LOVE this wacky instrument! And we get such admiration from the other musicians around us. Yes! Bassoonists and their bassoons are VERY SPECIAL!!
