One set worth investing in are the "Aural Training In Practice" books and CDs from the Associated Board. You can order them on the ABRSM publishing website.

I know people also like Turnbull's "Aural Time" material.

Slight problem if you just have the CD, in that they don't tell you the answers afterwards rolleyes.gif But the book is good. See if you can find some other people doing your grade in any instrument, and do a sort of "aural club" - saves the embarassment of doing it at home, or the time problem with doing it in instrumental lessons.

To crazy_purple_piano_freak,
Don't say that! Just give it your best effort and you shall pass all parts of the exam!!! Keep up the hard work!!^_~ wink.gif

The CD and books are useful, but there's nothing like the advice of a teacher to help with the aural. If you can afford it, I recommend booking an extra, separate lesson with your teache, to do aural practice alone.

Good luck!

I bought the Aural training in practice Cd for my daughter, and she found it of little use, because as others have said no answers, and if like me, you have no musical knowledg the book is of no use, as i cant play piano to help her.
Didnt want to spend her precious time in instrumental lesson time, working solely on aural, so I paid for a different teacher, who lives locally and teaches piano and she had about 6 half hour aural lessons with her for her Grade 7.
It really helped, and she got a far better mark in the Aural section than in Grade 6, and bumped her score up to a comfortable merit, so in my opinion money well spent, and it gave her confidence to tackle the section knowing what to expect, instead of dreading it!! smile.gif
