If all your time on the net was spent practising music? I think I would improve substantially!! Maybe even go up a few grades!

Wouldn't make much difference to me because I come on here after each practice when my back is painful and I can't do any more for a while...although if I spent this time working on school stuff like my 4 bits of coursework due in on Monday...

Depends how constructive the practice time was. I know that I peak, after which there's not much point in continuing without a break.
Forum time tends to be a treat for having done some practice, e.g. I've done the vacuuming and some piano practice, now I'll play forums for a bit.

Same here. I might improve a little, but not much.

Ok...I spend hours online. I doubt I would be able to play constructively and well for that many hours, which would mean I would improve.

I only come on the forums when I get bored, so I've usually exhausted all other options by the time I come online!

I do as much practice as I can without getting fatigued anyway. But I might get a bit more theory done

I think most people 'peak' Deborah. I can practice for about 90 minutes, then I'll need a break of a certain amount of time. Some of those times will be spent here at forums!

I agree with Deborah - a shorter amount of constructive practice time is better than hours of playing through. It also depends on the time of day and how you are feeling both physically and emotionally. I am lucky enough to be able to practice most mornings when I am fresh. I seldom practice cello in the evening as I find it needs more concentration than piano and the intonation gets awful. Having said that, the Elementary Strings course that I went on last week totalled 13.5 hours playing time over 3 days, 6.5 hours of that on the second day, and I did feel that my playing had benefitted. I wouldn't want to do that all the time though!

Probably a lot better. I spend a heck of a lot of time on here

A bit better probably though I do tend to come on here when I'm breaking from practise or from school work. When I'm stressed/tired practise isnt that productive anyway, I just end up playing the whole Einaudi book!

i would probably be a lot better than i am....but if you change the question to how much better would you be if you forgot about homework and practiced instead, then i think i'll join irish looney with the FRSM idea - i'd have soooo much more time!

arrgh i hate homework - i need to go now to write a few thousand words on 'Othello'...woop-de-do....

Mmmmmm, practising is near impossible some days when I'm in a low mood or tired, or stressed. I just can't seem to make the physical effort needed with my trom, cello practise is less hard going though.
