I am a cello student. I am quite confused about the exams syllabus.

the current exam syllabus is stated as 2005 & 06. It was written somewhere that the new edition will be out in August 06.

However, the exams dates in my country is Feb/Mar 07. Will I be required to play the list from the new edition? I was hoping that I get more time to prepare for the pieces.

Can someone offer me any clues?

Without knowing roughly where you are, it's difficult to give advice.
The new UK syllabus comes out in August this year for 07-08 - but I believe in parts of the world where there are fewer than three exam sessions per year the regulations may work differently.

However, in the UK you can use the previous year's syllabus pieces in the Feb-Mar session - you would possibly need to check out any other requirements (eg scales, keys required etc).

Your local representative may be the best person to advise you.

I think in most countries the current syllabus is valid for all if 2007, but as Maggie says it depends where you are.
