You forgot Birmingham University!! And Royal Holloway and Manchester.

There's also the Leeds College of Music.

Go on open days, it will help you get a feel for the course, and talk to current students where possible.

If you want to ask me any questions about Birmingham, just PM me.

Make sure you get one for Kingston as well - http://www.kingston.ac.uk wink.gif

Bias over! On a more serious level, think about more than just the institution - do you want to be in (or near) a large city? Close to or a long way from your parents' home? Consider which areas of music interest you - do you want to do a degree which involves alot of performance, or composition? What are the teaching staff like, especially for instrumental tuition?

how much contact time do you have, how much are you expected to study by yourself, will you have time to get a part-time job, what are the research and teaching ratings, what do you think of the place when you're there, what modules does the course involve...etc (i'll add more when i remember the rest of the talks we've had on unis)
