My strings are starting to look a bit worn. They're the factory strings, and I'm thinking I'll take this opportunity to put something a bit fancier on my guitar. I haven't bought strings in this country before (and it's been a while anyway), and I was wondering what brands are available, and what you might recommend.

D'Addario EJ46 Pro Arte High Tension are the ones I use on my current guitar.
I don't really like augustine strings, or to be specific, I don't like the augustine G string because it sounds lifeless.

I've almost always had D'Addario Pro Arte on my guitar. smile.gif

I'll agree with onmageetar, in that I've never been too fond of Augustine's.

I tried Savarez Alliance's as well but found them too bright for my liking.

Thanks I'll give them a try (not a brand I ever saw in South Africa). My current strings have a slightly deadened feel to them, if that makes sense. The guitar has a better tone than my old one, but it's like the strings don't do much to support the tone.
